Attention JUNIORS - E. Brickell Scholars Program

The Virginia Beach Rotary Club is accepting student nominations from Virginia Beach City Public Schools for the 2018-2019 E. E. Brickell Scholars Program.  Each school may nominate its top two academic students for this program and the scholarship committee at each school is responsible for selecting the two strongest candidates.

As seniors, these students will have the opportunity to attend a series of three seminars arranged by members of the Virginia Beach Rotary Club.  The recipient of this one-year, six thousand dollar E. E. Brickell Scholarship will be chosen from this group of scholars.  Financial need is not a consideration.

Students selected for the E. E. Brickell Scholars Program must be a junior in the Virginia Beach City Public Schools, have at least a 3.5 grade point average, achieved excellent scores on standardized tests, participate in academically advanced courses, and must show evidence of other academically-oriented pursuits and events.  The names of students selected by each of the high school scholarship committees must be received in the Office of Gifted Education in March of the current school year.  All E.E. Brickell Scholars requesting consideration for the scholarship award in the senior year must be planning to attend a four-year accredited institution of higher learning.
Any student interested in consideration for the program should see Mrs. Roberson in the library or ask their school counselor in the guidance office  for an application packet.  Packets must be submitted to Mrs. Roberson by March 23, 2018. CLICK HERE FOR INFORMATION
